Oruaiti school wrapped

Through my years at Oruaiti school I have grown in height and also in my learning. I have learnt to have standards and know when to let people go when they aren’t meeting my standards. I have grown in my confidence as well as how I handle all my responsibilities. I have chosen paths through my learning that I would have never tried a couple of years ago. As well as my growth I have also changed in other ways such as my apperence. as well as my personality. I believe it is a lot brighter and full of life compared to years before. And I couldn’t have changed this significantly if it wasn’t for Oruaiti school. I hope I can continue this growth through my next school.

Braille

today in class we learnt about braille we were all give a peice of paper with braille. We all needed to translate the braille text. This was cuch an interesting and fascinating experience. As I have never had to read and practically never seen braille text. So a big thank You to blind low vision NZ.

Art gallery trip

Dear Mark and Diane

I am writing to you today because I would love to thank you both for first opening your gallery to us and for  this amazing  and memorable experience. Your creations are most gorgeous and inspiring. The vibrant colours that you add to all of your art work in your studio are amazing. Your studio is so welcoming with all those wonderful colours covering every inch on your gallery’s walls and nearly your floors.

I love the art style you incorporate in your art. I loved the way you had your mothers amazing painting on display. I once again want to thank you for the new opportunities you have given the students in my class as there are many children that would love to pursue art as a full time job like you do. And of course thank you so much for the ice cream

Your art is truly amazing and I wouldn’t be surprised if I visited you soon. And thank you for having us.

Yours sincerely Gracie from Oruaiti school.

My weekend

On the weekend i had a friend over and we amde cookies and did many other fun things such as watching horror movies and going for a walk down to the creek and took heaps of photos of the sencery. It was very enjoyable. I cant wait to do it again.

Tech

On fiday we did tech it was very interesting as we finally started doing cooking. We made lemon cinnamon rolls. Oh and guess what they didn’t even rise. We did everything right Me and estella were so annoyed! But except for that we had a great day. We also cooked in volly ball😜

international moon day

4.53 billion years ago a sphere shaped object appeard in the sky. It looked white and magical when the skys were bright and full of light. But it also looked grey and sometimes rarely it was a vibrant red. When the sky was dark and full of stars. Did you know that if you grab a telescope and zoom in to its maximum you could just see penquin looking creatures dancing on the moon. Sometimes they even wave at you. This shows you that there are things everywhere.

Ti Rakau

A couple days ago my class started to fiddle with wooden sticks called Ti Rakau. We learnt patterns and listened to music to get the patterns in time with the audio. It was a bit tricky but after awile I got a bit better but I was still pretty trash to be honest with you. It was quite imusing and I would love to give it another go.

2025 Production

Production today, I’m super nervous. I think I might mess up and worse get laughed at. We are performing in front of our grandparents first at 11 am and later performing in front of all of our parents. The hall is going to be packed. We have very interesting costumes, some of us are wearing blue and the others are wearing brown. Today we are being dressed as little.. Well big glow worms. We will also be wearing blue, purple or green tutus. We will wear lights on our butts and have teal hats on our heads. Im have mixed feelings about performing. I’m excited but also super nervous.  Especially because I’m in the front row.

we finished our performance it was scary but once you got on the stage it was actually not half bad. I saw my grandparents in the auidence which was reashuring. me and my friend pia welcomed the grandparents and rere moana said that we looked like a princess from star wars which made our day.

The sweater

The Sweater

“Uhhhh” A sigh escaped my breath. There I was being forced to knit a sweater. Like it wasn’t even a pretty sweater it’s not like it was an abnormal magical sweater. It was a plain boring and matted up sweater. The knitting needles were old and chipped; they were giving me splinters everytime i flipped the stitch.

I leaned back in my chair giving my back a break from my previous position. “Argh” I groaned. I wanted to quit. But then I thought of my nanny. She wanted me to do at least one knitted project in my lifetime so I had to complete this. I sat back up and started to loop my wooden needle.

*2 days later*

“Yessssss” I cried. I was finally on the last stitch of my sweater. I have plasters over my fingers from the splinters I was collecting from the knitting needles. I had tied the last knot. I stood up and got dressed in my newly made sweater. I did a little spin in my mirror. I think i span around  like ten times watching the layers of my sweater colour pattern that you can clearly see was made by a first timer.

All of a sudden. I started rising off my bedroom carpet floor. I was too shocked to even whisper. Let alone a loud scream. I was so unbalanced that I ended up being completely vertical but my head was only 21 centimeters off the carpet.

Then my knitted sweater slipped right over my head, I knew it was too big.  THUD! I fell head first onto my carpet.

The sweater made me fly……
