TAPP!!!!

A couple days ago we had picture day. I first took a photo with my little sister. Then as we were waiting in a line for photos me and my friends took phottos together like we have done for the past year.We did some poses and then we were up as I looked and the camara my eyes sore from the flash , the lady taking our phtos fixing my stance and pose. I  hopped of the chair and walked to class thinking, “wow that didnt take long”.

Right now were are doing swim safe at our school.Every day this week we are swimming an learning how to be extra safe in the water. Were learning how to float, hold our breath etc. we have an amazing woman called Skylar who is helping and teaching us new skills and habits. Its always quite interesting ton see what other things we can do to stay a float and stay alive if we are ever in trouble.Its fun but the only bad thing is that it is extremly cold because it is winter.

The Opera

 My favorite character was Dr Dulcamara, I loved his facial expressions and the way he acted and sang. He had an amazing voice and I thought he was a very needed character.

The most surprising thing that I saw was how quickly you could just change the background and setting from just turning the set around. Also how Sarah and Ipu would sing high notes and barely open their mouths. I thought that was really impressive.

I really liked the outfits that you guys wore. Such as adina’s costume was very pretty with the blues and white and I love the shoes that she wore,Nemorino’s outfit was nice as the flannel and jorts really suited the character in my opinion, Belcore’s costume was very nicely fitting for his character the maroon pants and suit I thought was very nice. Finally Dr dulcamara’s outfit was amazing having a suit on top and basketball pants on the bottom, very kiwi. And obviously don’t forget Belcore’s aqua, shrek man costume is very on the famous side…

This term our main focus was to build a lost property for all the lost property around the school.

First we brainsrtormed what we should build for our school. The biggest problem we convided in was the lost property around the school and the current state of our lost property box. So we all decided we should make a lost property box.

Second, We started to do a concept statement, we wrote why we needed to have a lost property box and then we got our budget and started the..

Design problem\ design breif, we all talked about what we wanted the box to have and how we wanted it to look and we all drew a sketch of what we wanted. we all came together and kind of took a littl;e thing from everybody’s designs and put them into 1.

Then we made templates out of nets on paper and we all concluded in a design that we were happy about.

Right now we are measuring and cutting out 35cm by 35cm squares on triboard wood.

Camp was amazing.

On Monday, at 9am we got on the bus and head to RuaPekaPeka we went and explored the trenches from the Rua pekapeka war.

When we got back on the bus we headed to Whangarei pools. it was really cool going down the slides,swimming and chucking each other up in the air to see how they can go.My eyes were killing me at the end though.

When we got to camp we went to our dorms some were big some only had 3 BEDS!. My dorm group had 5 people Pia,Audrey,Molly,Ariya and I were in a 3 bed dorm, 3 of us were sleeping on beds and then the other 2 were on the floor. The teachers heard our disappointment so we got moved to a bigger dorm away from the whole camp which was amazing may I say.

Anyway the rest of the days we did water slides, jumping off the pontoon, kayaking, playing volleyball, playing this game called spider and something or on the playground being pains for our teachers.

we went for a walk which I’m pretty sure the whole group was moaning about but it was beautiful. We also went surfing which was terrible.

Im so grateful for the parents that came, for the parents who made us dinner lunch and breakfast and I’m grateful for the bus drivers who could stand us for about a hour.

The biggest challenge was the heat at night time.

🌑The Dark🌙

“Ahhhh”! I screamed, it felt like I was surrounded by monsters. The worst part was I couldn’t see anything. ”Please open the DOOR! My light is not working!” Then hands wrapped around my face from behind me, and pulled me into the darkness. It felt like I was going down a rabbit hole but instead of the bright colours it was full of darkness. When I looked down I couldn’t see my own hands. When I looked around it was like there were red eyes staring me up and down. 

THUD! I fell on my bedroom floor. Looking around to try and see what I just witnessed, I looked up and saw what looked like a black hole on my ceiling. I had this irritating thought that the creature from another side was crawling out.

I tried to hide in the corner of my room. I heard noises. It felt like I was going completely insane! It was like the noises were creeping in on me. I was scared,  so terrified that all the words for scary wouldn’t even cut it. It was like I jumped into an icy pool and forgot how to swim. I was cold as a vampire that has been dead for 1,000 years.

All of a sudden I got a wave of adrenaline that made me think if I didn’t get out now I would never have the strength to get again. I stood up and I tried to look for my door in the pitch black. I walked around for a while trying to only look where I was walking. My hand clutched on to my door handle and I quickly started ramming into my door as hard as I could. My door opened and I fell on the floor and saw the light and got up and ran. I was free…..

Our teacher gave us a challenge to write a story in less then 50 words! This really pushed me to see what words I was using. I wrote 3 storys some funny and 1 kind of serious.

THE STORIES

I heard the people on motorbikes behind me getting closer and closer. I tripped and fell and everything went black. When I opened my eyes I was in an abandoned warehouse tied to a pillar with a rag in my mouth, then a gunshot hit me right in the head.

I was planting a plant. I was planting a pineapple. A very fat pineapple. It was hard. I was going to quit. But then I thought why would I quit? I am a lady and people will think I am weak so I decided to jump off a large cliff.

Cheetos are scrumcis. They are yummy and go in my tummy. They make me do a little dancey dance. Because the flavors are melting on my tongue. Cheetos are orange and sometimes pink and there’s a cheetah. He’s so gangsta and my idol. I worship him. He’s like my jesus.

Yesterday was athletics and it was so exhausting. I placed in a couple of the activities like long jump,high jump and 100 meter sprints. There were also shot put, discuss and 200 meter sprints which i did not place in. I was so tired after all the running around I did but I did enjoy it I guess. It took all day to do everything ohh and after lunch we did relays as well as 400 meter and 800 meter sprints which I did not participate in but for the relays my group came second only because I dropped the stick but still we did really well. After all of this we went back to the classroom and played some kahoots.

Today we went to Te ahu centre in kaitaia and did a circus workshop. there were silks,spinning plates, jugling balls, flower sticks,po and so soo much more. It was a great experiance trying new things.The people who were running the work shop were really really nice and taught me a lot.there was a sausage sizzle and the people serving us were so nice.My favourite things was skipping and ariel silks especially when I went up side down. so all i have to say is thank Circ-ability for this great experance.
